At Moriac PS we use School Wide Positive Behaviour (SWPB) as an evidenced-based framework for preventing and responding to behaviours in school. This is a whole school approach to creating an environment which encourages effective learning through the development of a positive learning environment.
We teach our students how to behave appropriately and uphold the school Core Values in a positive and supported way.
We recognise that learning socially acceptable behaviours is a process which everybody moves through at a different pace.
Interventions and support have a common goal of maximising inclusion and building student capacity.
Our matrix titled ‘The Moriac Way’ is explicitly taught throughout the year but in detail during the first two weeks of the school year within our Learning To Learn program.
