Principal Selection Process

Principal Selection Process.

After an extensive selection process, it is with great excitement we announce that Suzanne Prendergast has officially been appointed the new Principal of Moriac Primary School. Suzanne did a magnificent job in her role as Acting Principal in the months after Steve Durkin left for Lara Lake Primary.

The selection process was an extremely structured, Education Department-led, lengthy process.

The selection panel for the Principal position comprised of:

· Brendan Bush - Senior Education Improvement Leader. Department Representative
· Daryl Diment - Principal Representative from Ocean Grove Primary
· Ben Raidme - Moriac Primary Staff Representative
· Stuart Christie - School Council President
· Paula Stiles - School Council Representative

The online application process began in early August, when the Principal role was first advertised. Applications closed in late August, with application reading and interviews taking place Wednesday 6th September at the Geelong Conference Centre. The decision had to be ratified by School Council later that night and then signed off by a Government official from the Education sector.

We are thrilled with the appointment as we have already seen Suz’s outstanding leadership qualities have a positive impact on the Moriac school community. She comes with a wealth of knowledge, passion and experience and has a clear understanding of the school’s vision for the future.
