CYBERSAFTEY TALK – Year 3 – 6

CYBERSAFTEY TALK – Year 3 – 6

Today the 5/6 and 3/4 students had a visit from Leading Senior Constable Cathy from the Torquay Police.

She talked about cyber safety and how we have to be safe when using technology. She came with a presentation and tips on how to be safe on technology.

She said to be careful with who we talk to on social media with who we talk to on social media, like Instagram and Snapchat, because it could be anyone. She also said that we have to be careful about the pictures we post, because anybody can see it.

Here are some more tips she told us. Turn off your location base data when you post a picture, because anyone who sees it can find out when and where you took the photo.

You also wouldn’t give out any personal information, such as your name, age, address, passwords and your banking details.

Cathy also showed us some videos and told us what to do if we are being, or see cyberbullying, and how you always have to tell a trusted adult.

We know everyone learnt a lot and enjoyed her presentation, videos and tips.

Thank you.
