A message to the community from Steve

I write to you to inform you that I have been offered and have accepted the position of Principal of Lara Lake Primary School. This will commence from the beginning of term three but I will continue as Acting Principal at Lara Lake for the rest of this term. The past few weeks have been a bit of a blur. At the end of term one, I wouldn't have thought that events would take the turn that they have.

Since July 2007, I have been quite proud to call myself the Principal of Moriac Primary School. During that time, I have had the pleasure of meeting and knowing around 500 young people from the community. Each had their own story to tell, their own needs and their own unique personalities. I will miss them. As the school's leader, I have endeavoured to provide them with the best learning environment possible. The staff at the school are outstanding professionals and I have enjoyed working with them. I will miss them too. I will be sad to leave before the building process is completed. It has been a long and frustrating fight to make sure Moriac received the new facilities that are soon to be delivered. I am pleased that the works are ready to proceed.

It is said that you have been successful if you leave a place in a better shape than you found it. I have no hesitation in saying that this is the case.

I will visit the school to see the wonderful kids.

Thanks for your support for the school over the years.

Regards

Steve
