HOUR OF CODE - Computer Science Education Week

As part of Computer Science Education Week, all students in Moriac Primary School participated in an Hour of Code, a worldwide initiative to teach students the basics of computer coding. Students from Prep to 6 could code various programs by the end of the hour, using websites and apps such as Code Studio, Scratch and Scratch Jr (all of which can be used online at home for free.) The event was a huge success, with the art room full of students who came back at lunch time for extra coding opportunities! With the idea that ‘Anybody of any age can learn to code’, we hope students can take what they have learnt home and teach other family members the fun of coding.
